A look back – Summer 2018

As the summer term draws to an end, and another successful concert is wrapped up, we’re looking back over the last few months.

Every year we grow both has a choir, and as a group of friends who love and support each other (soppy, we know!).

We are all incredibly proud of what we have achieved this term, learning Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus Songs of Sanctuary in its entirety, and adding more great repertoire to our quickly expanding belts.

Despite our wonderful venue, Conrnerstone, being so warm, there was a fine line between a concert or a sauna, we really enjoyed singing there.

It promises to be a magical night of celebration and we hope you can join us.

A year to remember

city sirensWell, that’s a wrap for 2017 and we’ve got lots to celebrate.

We’ve had loads of new sirens join us, making this year’s Christmas concert our biggest and best yet. We’ve sung in some beautiful venues – St Mary’s in Whitchurch and St German’s last weekend, as well as the Pomegranate Jazz Club on a lovely summer’s day in July.

We had the pleasure of being able to sing in St David’s shopping centre again this year, fundraising for Breast Cancer Care.

We celebrated our 4th birthday, marking 4 years since Emma Sands, founder of City Sirens, started the group with a few like-minded women who wanted to come together and sing a Capella music… and look how we’ve grown!

A big thank you to everyone who has continued to support us this year, to Rachel, our MD, and to all the members of the choir who have worked so hard and made rehearsals a fun place to come in the middle of a busy week and spend time with friends.

We can’t wait for 2018.

Look out for exciting updates in the new year on social media.

Celebrating our achievements

Over the Christmas period we were pleased to fund raise during our Christmas Concert for St Margaret’s Church in Roath where we held the concert. We then sang in St David’s Centre for Breast Cancer UK and in Whitchurch for Bobath Wales.

Christmas with the Sirens: Christmas 2016 at St Margaret’s, Roach

In the last week before Christmas we were lucky enough to sing in the majestic Tredegar House. What an amazing 2016!

Well – we’re not going to stop there. 2017 is going to be a big year with bigger and better concerts and new and exciting repertoire. We are recruiting new members and will be performing our Easter concert with the theme of Love, Peace and Hope.
